A cracker of a day - and nearly the end to a crack A cracker of a day - and nearly the end to a cracker of a year. Here’s to inspiring travels, family, trusting clients, ‘our rocks’ - our treasured technical team of tradies and artisans who bring our ideas to life and finally our design and management team of Katherine and Madeleine who make it happen. Thank you one and all and wishing you a fabulous end to 2025, resting breaks and a fresh and rewarding 2026.

We believe in the slow movement of interior design We believe in the slow movement of interior design. Interiors that are built slowly, layer upon layer using quality products. Buy well, buy once. Advocates of interiors that feel like they have evolved over time, we love supporting local design and
artisans and designing homes that are intensely personal.

Strobilanthes are Monocarpic - plants that die aft Strobilanthes are Monocarpic - plants that die after flowering. Sadly so many of our Strobilanthes are flowering at the moment. Affectionately known as ‘Strobes’ by us, these Indian natives, Strobilanthes gossypinus are a favourite. They have a self determined dome, a various felted range of leaves and easy going love of sun or shade. Beautiful silver structure. Oh and they fit in anywhere. Time to make cuttings.

The romance of a Piet Oudolf garden. A visit to Ha The romance of a Piet Oudolf garden. A visit to Hauser and Wirth gallery Somerset has long been on the lust list. Art combined with a Piet Oudolf designed garden, and beautiful buildings and interiors - bliss.

Just 10yrs, the garden feels at peak performance and the romance of his artful drifts of perennials on full display.

Exquisite restaurant, bookshop, courtyards and galleries. Double Bliss.

How to feel like a child again? Experience the Gre How to feel like a child again? Experience the Great Dixter gardens. Garden after garden of head height flowers and foliage, tightened and released by yew corridors, arches and hedged paths. It was right back into Frances Hodgson Burnett’s secret garden. Riotous colour too, the full range of a Derwent coloured pencil box. Originally conceived by the late owner and great gardener and writer Christopher Lloyd and now managed so passionately by Fergus Garrett and team, the gardens are so immersive and joyous. Great Dixter has been through a remodelling by Edwin Lutchens in 1910 and many of his beautiful details are evident throughout the garden. A fitting finale!

Thank you Rebecca Lemonius (who along with husband Lars are the current owners of Long Barn) for her warm welcome and vivid historical account. Loved Dan Pearson’s Delos garden at Sissinghurst. 👏🏼
